Home, Where the Story Begins

Volunteers are the heartbeat of Habitat. We welcome people from all walks of life to join us as we build simple, decent, affordable houses in partnership with families in need.  We need individuals, corporate groups, faith groups, student groups – anyone & everyone wanting to make a difference in our community and with our families.

We welcome volunteers to help us build, assist in the office, serve on committees, provide lunches or snacks, and help with special projects and events that benefit the organization.  As a volunteer for Wabash County Habitat for Humanity, there is always a place for you to bring your unique talents and skills.

No previous experience is necessary and our staff will provide you with all of the training and tools needed. Our partner families work alongside many of our volunteers while they are earning sweat equity, so it’s a great way to meet future Habitat homeowners.

Individual Opportunities

Habitat for Humanity offers multiple ways for individuals to join us in our mission of eliminating poverty housing. Whether it’s swinging a hammer, answering phones, providing a snack to our workers, or serving on one of our volunteer teams, there is a place for individuals from all walks of life to volunteer at Habitat. Some volunteer roles include:
• Office support
• Construction
• Food / snack donor
• Committees including:  Fund development and public relations, family selection, and construction.

Group Opportunities

Volunteering is a great way to bring your corporate, faith, or community group together and improve your teamwork. We offer construction opportunities for groups. If you are interested in volunteering with your group or organization, please contact us for more details. We will be happy to schedule a time to discuss opportunities with you.

Student Opportunities

As a student of Manchester University, you can also get involved with Habitat for Humanity through your school’s chapter. We would be glad to reserve build days for you, and are always welcoming of new members. In addition to building, your school chapter hosts special events to raise awareness and support for Habitat for Humanity. Habitat chapters are a great way to meet like-minded people, and they’ll keep you engaged in both your school and your community.
